About the Trust

What is the Mariposa Trust
The Mariposa Trust (also known as Saying Goodbye) is a Charity that was officially established in 2013, however the work of the trust started in 2012. It has been set-up to oversee and steer various projects and divisions including Saying Goodbye, GrowingYou, Holding Hope, Waiting for You, Love in Every Tear and So Cherished. The primary function of the charity is to support anyone who have been affected by the loss of a child at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy. This is provided through remembrance services at Cathedrals and Minsters, (100 by the end of 2017), and via a support service, which reaches in excess of 50,000 people each week globally. Additionally the trust is working with Government and Health Professionals to improve the care and support of people pre, during and post baby loss. The Trust is led by the founders Zoe and Andy Clark-Coates, who are Trustee/Directors, and they are supported by a wonderful set of trustees and an international team, who assist in coordinating the work of the charity across the UK and worldwide. Saying Goodbye was originally established as a not-for-profit division of CCEM (the events business run by Zoe and Andy), but as it grew, it has become a charity in it's own right. CCEM continue to be involved in the charities work, organising all of the services and events for the charity.

Aims

The Trust has been established to provide services and support for people who have lost children at any stage of pregnancy, at birth, or in infancy, be it last week or 60-years ago, and to achieve this the trusts aims are as follows:

"As above, but exchange wife with husband, exchange Andy with Zoe and exchange mother with father....and that should make sense!"

Global...Baby loss knows no bounds, and can affect anyone, anywhere!

Baby loss is a global issue with around 30,000,000 miscarriages each year, 2.6 million still births and 5.495 million neo-natal and early years losses. The Mariposa Trust is leading the way in providing better support for anyone going through loss, and in increasing awareness of the size and scale of the issue. To achieve this, the charity has launched services into the United States, (in addition to the UK services) with new services launching in Canada and France in early 2016.
